FAQs

Questions about Capturing Nature and the Human Spirit? Check out these FAQs, or email us with any other questions.

  • Where and when will this workshop be held?
This workshop will be in Teton Valley, Idaho, from May 30 - June 3, 2025, with Scott Christensen's studio in Victor, Idaho as the workshop home base. Each day runs from 9-5.

Please note we do not have a public transportation system here in Teton Valley so you will need your own transportation (or plan to carpool with other workshop attendees!).

Both the Idaho Falls (IDA) and Jackson Hole (JAC) airports are about an hour and 15 minutes to an hour and a half away, depending on weather and traffic. The Salt Lake City (SLC) airport is about a 4 1/2 hour drive.
  • What level of painter is this workshop for?
All levels are welcome! Whether you're new to painting or are a professional artist, you'll come away from this workshop with new skills, ideas, and friendships. Having two of us instructing means we can give you lots of personalized feedback, no matter where you are in your painting.
  • I only want to paint landscapes, or only want to paint figures. Is this workshop for me?
We highly encourage you to come to this workshop with a learning mindset. Painting out of your comfort zone is a great way to grow your skills, learn from new instructors, and to learn more about your own painting process. This being said, there is no one right way - if you want to spend the workshop only working on one or the other, that choice is up to you.
  • What do I need to bring with me to the workshop?
All of your indoor painting supplies, appropriate outdoor painting supplies (including outdoor-appropriate clothing and footwear), snacks for our painting days, and a learning mindset. A full packing list will be emailed to you 6 weeks before our workshop.

Please note we do not have a public transportation system here in Teton Valley so you will need your own transportation (or plan to carpool with other workshop attendees!).
  • Do you have lodging suggestions?
Check out our local Chamber of Commerce website for suggestions:

There are also several AirBnB and VRBO options in our area. Scott's studio is located between Victor and Driggs, Idaho (both downtown areas are about a 10-minute drive from the studio).
  • What is your refund policy?
Cancel by April 30th for a full refund. Within 30 days, there are no refunds, unless you can find someone else to take your place.

We highly recommend purchasing trip insurance.
